Sportradar wins prestigious NiT “Company of the Year” in Norway’s Trondheim region

Established in 1996, the award recognises organisations large and small that, through their establishment or activity, contribute to the development or strengthening of business in the Trondheim region. Past recipients of the award include Siemens, Nidar, SINTEF and Atmel AS.

The jury, which comprises a panel of representatives from the Trondheim municipality, Nordea and NiT, choose the winner based on a number of factors including quality, service, profile and development of the region.

Sportradar received the title in 2017, a year in which the event focused on digitalisation and competitiveness. According to the jury, Sportradar is a strong example of a company that can continue to show results over time and whose innovation and success in digital technology has expanded internationally.

The title’s prize money of NOK 50,000 is to be given to a charitable purpose of the winner’s choosing. Sportradar selected to gift the money to Barnas Stasjon, a local charity in Trondheim that support families with children in vulnerable life situations due to substance abuse and / or mental health problems.

Sportradar has matched the contribution with a further NOK 50,000 donation to Right to Play in Norway, an international humanitarian organisation that uses sport and play to promote holistic development of children and youth, improving their lives and strengthening their communities by translating the best practices of sport and play into opportunities to promote development, health and peace.

Sportradar Founder and CEO, Carsten Koerl said the organisation was very proud to receive such a prestigious honour and to be able to give back to worthwhile causes.

“On behalf of the entire company, I am very pleased to receive this award, which recognises our work in driving sports fan engagement and insight through innovation in data analytics and technology. It is an honour to donate the prize money to locally based charities and I hope the further donation will help develop Norway’s sporting future.

“I would like to thank the NiT, Nordea and our team in Trondheim. The award is a true testament to the team’s quality, dedication and expertise.”
