Gambling revenue in Ohio’s casinos and racinos was $193.6 M in June

The 11 casinos and racinos brought in a combined $189.1 million last June. The record for June, $211.2 million, was set in 2021, according to data from the Ohio Casino Control and Lottery commissions. This is the money kept by the gambling houses, after paying out winnings, but before state taxes and fees.

Through the first six months of the year, Ohio’s gambling establishments are ahead year-over-year. So far in 2023, the casinos and racinos have had $1.21 billion in gambling revenue, up from $1.17 billion million through June last year. These figures exclude newly legalized sports betting.

The four casinos, which can offer slot machines and table games like blackjack, brought in $82.8 million of gambling revenue in June, up from $81.5 million last year. The state’s seven racinos, the gambling houses at horse racetracks that can only offer slot machines, brought in $110.3 million, up from $107.7 million.

In the Greater Cleveland market, June revenue was:

* $24.7 million at MGM Northfield Park, up from $23.5 million in June 2022.

* $15.7 million at JACK Thistledown Racino, up from $15.2 million.

* $21.7 million at JACK Casino Cleveland, almost identical to last June.
