(Montenegro).- Games of chance revenues increased by an annual 24% to 18 million euro ($21 million) in the first six months of 2025 thanks to improved supervision mechanisms and increased transparency following the introduction of a new information system, the government said.
Earnings from online gambling surged by 39% year-on-year, reaching 7.4 million euros in the January–June period, according to a recent announcement from the national authority overseeing games of chance.
Betting activities generated 4.9 million euros in revenue during the same timeframe, marking a 5.2% increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, gambling machine club operations saw a 23% rise, bringing in 3.5 million euros.
Casino game revenues climbed by 32% year-over-year, totaling 2.2 million euros in the first half of 2025.
In 2024, Montenegro recorded a 51% spike in overall games of chance revenue, hitting 33.8 million euros. This significant growth was attributed to the government’s introduction of a new variable element to the online gaming concession fee starting in January of that year.
