Detroit’s three commercial casinos in the city posted combined revenue of $114.09 million in May, according to official figures. Table games and slot machines accounted for the bulk of earnings at $113.31 million, while retail sports betting contributed $781,668 in qualified adjusted gross receipts.

This snapshot underscores the continued strength of traditional gaming in the city, with sports wagering adding a modest but notable share to overall performance.

Table Games and Slot Revenue

May 2026 table games and slot revenue increased 0.5% compared with May 2025 but decreased 4.0% from April 2026. For the period January 1 through May 31, revenue was up by 1.2% year-over-year.

Casino-level results compared with May 2025 were:

• MGM: down 0.7% to $52.77 million
• MotorCity: up 4.8% to $35.55 million
• Hollywood Casino at Greektown: down 2.6% to $24.99 million

The casinos paid $9.18 million in state gaming taxes in May, compared with $9.13 million in May 2025. They also reported submitting $13.5 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

Retail Sports Betting Revenue

Detroit casinos reported $7.21 million in total retail sports betting handle for May. Total gross receipts were $799,787. QAGR decreased by 39.0% from May 2025 and 6.7% from April 2026.
