(Malta).- FBM Foundation and Kythe Foundation made a joint donation to the National Children’s Hospital in Quezon, Philippines, on August 13th. Dozens of grocery kits, toys and electronic equipment were delivered by eight volunteers to help children with chronic conditions.
This joint solidarity initiative between FBM Foundation and Kythe Foundation assured dozens of children in disadvantageous situations the proper care they needed while also providing the necessary resources for their wellbeing, education and protection.
Meaningful solidarity actions with a big purpose
On the field, FBM Foundation and Kythe Foundation helped a total of 80 chronic patients in three different dimensions. The two foundations distributed essential goods including rice, powdered milk, quaker oats, eggs and sky flakes, as well as some toys (toy big teddy bears, bean chairs, Lego boxes, educational toys, story books and art supplies) that will be available for the kids' patients to use in the playroom of the National Children’s Hospital of Quezon.
Additionally, FBM Foundation and Kythe Foundation provided the hospital with electronic equipment that will help its staff optimize the quality of the health care delivered to patients - IV stands, electric fans and a refrigerator for cooling medicine.
Why donating means a sense of hope
Covid-19 has impacted not only the physical health of hospitalized children but also their mental health, and for kids playing is an important part of the healing process as it helps them to cope with stress and with the challenge of hospitalization. To help the children affected by the pandemics, FBM Foundation, along with Kythe Foundation, provided a playroom at National Children’s Hospital.
“To make a positive effect in the lives of numerous children is the reason why we do what we do. Giving back to the community will always be at our core”, stated Vítor Francisco, FBM Foundation representative. The spokesman also points out “the growing need for volunteer participation” as a fundamental factor in order to provide “the solutions and resources to mitigate social and health-related problems all around the world”.
FBM Foundation: because helping is caring
FBM Foundation aims to keep on growing its vibrant volunteer community and work in close proximity with human rights organizations. To make a social impact in the lives of those in vulnerable conditions is the main goal of the foundation.
Remember that, FBM Foundation was born through specific humanitarian actions coordinated by the FBM brand to help the Filipino communities affected by natural disasters. The foundation also takes concrete actions to encourage traditional or professional education and boost socioeconomic changes that produce positive effects in the long-term future.
Kythe Foundation is a non-profit organization aimed at improving the quality of life among hospitalized children with cancer or other chronic illnesses, born in 1992 and is based in Quezon City, Philippines. The organization has remained steadfast in providing hospitalized, chronically ill children renewed hope, ensuring these children have opportunities to play and to continue learning and growing while in the hospital.
