Brazil leads ranking in visits to sports betting sites

(Sao Paulo).- Brazil is the country with the highest number of visits to sports betting portals in the world, and the reasons are the long overdue regulation and the number of actual and potential players in its market.
With a record 14 billion accesses to gambling sites worldwide, Brazil is no exception.
According to a study by bnldata.com.br based on data from similarweb and coupomvalido.com.br, Brazil leads the world ranking in terms of visits, with more than 3.19 billion hits. This figure represents 22.78% of the total number of players worldwide.
Brazil's record is so high that it practically doubles the second most visited country, Great Britain, with 1.61 billion, and Nigeria is third, with 1.29 billion accesses.
With the incentive of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Brazilians' interest in sports betting sites grew by more than 75%. This growth was only surpassed by Chile, which achieved a significant 100% increase in the volume of accesses.
But the surge in Brazilian visits to sports betting sites began in 2018, with the local regulation of the sports betting market.
Within Brazil, the state of São Paulo is the one with the highest number of accesses to sports betting sites, followed by Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro and Santa Catarina.
