DFL and Sportradar join forces against match-fixing
⏱ 1 min read
(Switzerland).- As part of the ‘Together against match-fixing’ programme, in place since 2012, the German Football League (DFL) and Sportradar have recently commenced with a series of integrity education workshops to educate the licensed teams of all Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga clubs to help combat match-fixing.
The workshops, which are mandatory for all licensed players, will be completed for the 2018/19 season by 31st January 2019 and then repeated annually. Since the 2014/15 season, it has already been compulsory for the clubs to take suitable prevention measures against match-fixing in the Youth Academies for age groups from U-16 to U-23.
In addition to the education workshops, the DFL and Sportradar will soon be launching a dedicated e-learning tool, as well as a mobile app. The website www.gemeinsam-gegen-spielmanipulation.de, which has already existed since 2014, will also be revised and updated.
The DFL and Sportradar have enjoyed a strong partnership since 2005, when the DFL and the German FA (DFB) brought Sportradar on board to monitor and analyse all their betting-relevant matches and competitions (over 7,000 per season), to again help fight potential betting-related match-manipulation.
