(Switzerland).- Sportradar Integrity Services, a unit of Sportradar, and a global supplier of sport integrity solutions and partner to over 150 sports federations and leagues, have today entered a bet monitoring agreement with Handball Bundesliga Women, the governing body of elite women`s professional handball in Germany.
Under the terms of the multi-year agreement, matches in the Handball Bundesliga Women 1 & 2, Cup and Super Cup will be monitored by Sportradar Integrity Services via their Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), an advanced and proven bet monitoring system which has been independently assessed and verified by recognized by experts in the field of sports betting and integrity.
Through the UFDS, betting patterns on Handball Bundesliga competitions will be analysed for abnormalities by a global team of qualified integrity experts, and any suspicious matches will be subsequently reported, allowing critical visibility into potential match-fixing threats. Sportradar Integrity Services have detected more than 7,300 suspicious matches during the past 17 years with over 600 of these taking place in 2022 alone.
Handball Bundesliga Women, CEO Christoph Wendt , said: "We acknowledge the dangers that match-fixing poses to sport, and we understand the important role that bet monitoring can play in the efforts to tackle this risk. By utilising the UFDS for our competitions, we are strengthening our integrity protections, and this agreement puts us in a strong position to ensure fair competition in our events in the years ahead."
Sportradar Integrity Services Managing Director Andreas Krannich added: "The growing popularity of women`s sport over recent years is there for all to see, and so we must be vigilant in affording it the same first class protection as men`s sport. Through our UFDS, we will monitor every match for any signs of irregularities, as well as offering insights into the global betting popularity of their competitions, and through this will support the integrity programme of Handball Bundesliga Women in the years ahead."
