Ksa addresses Jacks.nl regarding sports sponsorship ban violation

The Netherlands Gambling Authority (Ksa) has addressed JOI Gaming Limited, operating in the Netherlands under the name JACKS.NL, regarding a violation of the ban on untargeted advertising. On the website of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), the logo for the land-based Jack’s Casino locations was displayed with a direct link to the JACKS.NL website. While advertising for land-based gambling is permitted under certain conditions, this specific link constituted untargeted advertising for online gambling.

Since July 1, 2025, a total ban on sports sponsorship by online gambling providers has been in effect. This ban is part of the broader prohibition on untargeted advertising for remote games of chance. The purpose of these regulations is to better protect vulnerable groups, such as young adults and individuals with high-risk gambling behavior, from exposure to gambling advertisements.

Link to Online Gambling Services

The Ksa received a report that the Jack’s Casino logo was being displayed on the Professional Darts Corporation website (pdc.tv). This logo contained a hyperlink to the website JACKS.NL, where online gambling services are offered. Displaying the logo itself does not constitute a violation; however, providing a link to a website featuring online gambling does, as it effectively promotes online gaming on a public website.

Link Removed

After being contacted by the Ksa regarding the violation, JACKS.NL immediately removed the link to the online gambling website.

The Ksa emphasizes that license holders are responsible for complying with all laws and regulations concerning gambling advertising. The regulator monitors providers to ensure adherence to these rules and employs the most effective interventions to guarantee a fair and safe gambling environment.
