Paraguay: National gaming commission summons companies to operate sports betting

(Paraguay).- The National Games of Chance Commission (Conajzar) convenes companies interested in operating sports bets throughout the country. The call is made in the midst of a criminal investigation for apparent punishable acts in the management of games of chance.
The National Games of Chance Commission (Conajzar in Spanish) initiated the call for public tenders for the award of the game called "Sports Betting", with an exclusive character throughout the country. This was reported through paid advertisements in written media, in compliance with the process established in Law No. 1016/97 of the Gambling Regime.
The report does not specify whether the call for tender is national or international. However, it establishes that bids may be submitted until 10:00 a.m. on October 31, 2022, the date on which the bid opening ceremony will take place.
The aforementioned procedures will be carried out at the institution's office, located at Leonismo Paraguayo No. 330 almost Dr. Bestard, Manorá neighborhood of Asunción.
Those interested in acquiring the Bidding Terms and Conditions (PBC) may do so upon payment of G. 60 million (non-refundable), through a deposit in the National Development Bank (BNF), in the Treasury account.
The commission will evaluate the firms, the amount of the canon and guarantee offered, their financial and legal capacity, background and experience in this game.
The call is made in the midst of the fiscal investigation for corruption in the management of games of chance, specifically the adjudication of the pool, reduction of the canon and the "regularization" of slot machines in prohibited sites.
