Lisbon bids farewell to SBC Summit 2025 with a vibrant day and record attendance

Over three days, more than 30,000 attendees from 150 countries gathered in the Portuguese capital, consolidating the event as one of the most influential in the sector. The figure represents a 20% increase compared to 2023, with a notable increase in participation from Africa, which registered a 78% year-over-year jump.

The final day, Thursday, September 18, maintained the vibrant pace of the opening: packed panels, active exhibition halls, and a festive closing with the SBC Awards and the INFINITY Festival. Highlights included the future of mergers and acquisitions, regulatory resilience in Asia, and Brazil's efforts to combat gaming fraud.

Andrew McCarron, Managing Director of SBC, highlighted the enhancements to the event's agenda, such as the addition of a dedicated emerging markets stage and new academies focused on disruptive technologies. "No one offers as much content or networking opportunities as SBC. What we do, the care we put into every detail, makes the experience unparalleled," he stated.

For his part, Dennis Algreen, Senior Marketing Director, celebrated the event's impact: 235 new sponsors, an expanded exhibition space of 135,000 m², and a record 5,969 C-level attendees, reinforcing the Summit's appeal to key decision-makers.

Furthermore, the event featured voices outside the gaming world, with presentations from figures such as Gary Vaynerchuk and Randi Zuckerberg, and activities such as the Legends Charity Game, which sparked nostalgia and international attention.
Lisbon, with 72,000 hotel nights booked and a population of just 550,000, reaffirms its position as an ideal epicenter for this type of global gathering.

With this edition, the SBC Summit Lisbon not only closed a successful chapter, but also set the bar high for what's to come in 2026.
