(Lima, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Ana María Padrós, Founder of Team Seven, participates in this interview, which is part of a series of SoloAzar articles dedicated to inspiring women in the gaming industry, where they share their thoughts and ideas about their beginnings, their challenges and achievements.

How were your beginnings in the industry, before becoming the Founder of Team Seven?
In 1999 my first child was 1 year old and I was going back to work after the maternity sabbatical that I took to enjoy him. Through an advertisement in the newspaper, I reached the Dakota company, a casino operator, which in the beginning had also been an IGT representative.
I took over the marketing management and stayed 8 years, enjoying the growth of the company. I started when it had 12 casinos and when I left it had more than 30.
They invited me to be part of the Cirsa team, here I was the Central Marketing Department and it was my first job in a multinational company. He handled the marketing of the casinos in Peru and Ecuador. I stayed 4 years and left when the structure was reduced in expectation of future growth, which in fact occurred years later and with great force due to the sale of Cirsa to its current owners.
I spent a year in personal projects until they called me from Atronic to take over the marketing management, but this time in Latin America. There the merger happened to become Spielo, then Gtech and finally we ended up being IGT, as if my beginnings in its old representative (Dakota) had been a prediction. I stayed 8 wonderful years that I enjoyed a lot. In April 2019, I launched Team Seven, which is the consolidation of everything learned in this generous industry.
Where were you born and what did you study? How would you define yourself in a few words?
I was born in Lima but grew up in Arequipa in the south of the country. I returned to Lima at the age of 16 to study a career in graphic and advertising design. When I finished I exercised for only one year and life took me down the path of marketing, which later I studied for 3 more years.
I define myself as a hardworking, creative and very persevering woman.
What have been the biggest challenges and opportunities that you had to face throughout your career? I imagine last year was very challenging for your company. How have you handled the situation?
One of the biggest challenges and at the same time a great opportunity in my professional life within the industry has been the English language. When I entered Atronic my knowledge of the language was basic and it took me a lot of effort and dedication to improve at a forced pace because all internal communication was in that language and the company progressed at its own pace while I had to keep up, whatever the cost.
My company, like many in the world, has suffered from the pandemic, it has had to reinvent ourselves and do everything to stay on its feet, but improvement is already being seen. When the sector closed, we lost consulting clients, so my partner and I began to promote the sale of biosafety products and, in general, we became suppliers of any need that the sector could have. We participate as allies in GAT VIRTUAL EXPO, a great experience and for 6 months we have been representatives for Peru of XPIDER, a Digital Marketing agency based in Costa Rica. The consultancies will return soon, I can happily affirm that we DID IT, we are still on our feet and we learned a lot.
As a woman in a managerial role, have you had to deal with any difficulties?
Many. Human beings are VERY complex and working as a team can sometimes be a real challenge, but I think my balance is positive, in any case my teams say so, I have great memories of all of them.
