(Buenos Aires).- Casino de Tandil has developed a reopening plan that is based on guidelines from the nation’s Integrated Health System
Following up with the recent measures, casinos and bingo halls inArgentinaare discussing reopeningand resumption of operations. Casino de Tandil is looking to be the first operator in Buenos Aires to reopen, as confirmed by Juan Pablo Ibañez, member of the Casino Workers' Union.
Ibañez confirmed to La Voz that the casino has already got authorised protocol with its measures approved by the Integrated Public Health System (SISP). Casino de Tandil appears to be the first to obtain the SISP approval from the municipality of Buenos Aires, and is left to be examined thoroughly by the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos (IPLyC) of Buenos Aires.
Ibañez said "The Buenos Aires authorities were up to the task, and as workers, we understood that we were not a priority in the midst of the pandemic and in a complex economic framework,".
In addition to the income of the casino, the reopening will help the union members and workers as some of them have faced loses of up to 50% of their usual income. Regarding the workers and their situations, Ibañez mentioned to La Voz "It was too hard, too long, the mass of casino workers are in too complex a situation, the pandemic exposed it."
He concluded by saying "We have to understand that the pandemic is not within a law, we all have to make the effort, and we praise the union authorities and the effort of the governor [and his employees] that they had a great predisposition, when we had a four-year government without having any kind of conversation because they did not attend to us."
This reopening, along with other measures taking place in Argentina, signify a measurable improvement of the betting and gaming sector after the pandemic.
