Cedar Crossing Casino: A New Entertainment Hub in Iowa

Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center will open in mid-November, ahead of its original schedule.

The largest casino investment in Iowa

The $275 million development announced the early opening date and revealed its first wave of entertainment acts. The casino, which represents the largest investment in a casino in Iowa, was originally planned to open later in the year.

"We have been fortunate to partner with many Iowa contractors and trade unions to work on the build of Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center," said Stefan Huba, chief development officer at Peninsula Pacific Entertainment. "A strong plan, good architecture, strategic procurement, local labor and favorable weather have helped keep work ahead of schedule."

The Cedar Crossing Event Center will host more than 100 shows each year, bringing nationally recognized acts alongside regional and local talent. The Pork Tornadoes will kick off the concert series on Nov. 25.

Other announced acts include Old Dominion on Dec. 5, Steve-O on Dec. 12 and the Eli Young Band on Jan. 22, 2027. The lineup also features Switchfoot, James "Murr" Murray, the Ying Yang Twins with Paul Wall, Parmalee, the Marshall Tucker Band, the Red Hot Chili Pipers, the Commodores and Carrot Top.

The event center will seat about 1,500 people. It will also house Jocko's Comedy Club, which will feature comedians including Brooks Wheelan, Josh Blue and Greg Hahn as part of its Thursday Comedy Series.

"Cedar Crossing is designed to be much more than a casino," said Kim Pang, executive vice president and general manager of Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center. "We're creating a destination where guests can enjoy premier gaming, dining, comedy and concerts."

"Our goal is the deliver entertainment experiences that will enhance what is available in Cedar Rapids and provide new reasons for residents and visitors to spend time in our community," Pang said.

Tickets for all announced acts go on sale Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. Charter Members will get access to a pre-sale 24 hours before the public.

Cedar Crossing Casino's grand opening celebration to take place in December

The casino's grand opening celebration will take place Dec. 4-5, moved up from the previously planned Dec. 31 date. The 160,000-square-foot facility will feature destination restaurants, including the Clubhouse by Zach Johnson, and an Arts and Cultural Center.

Cedar Crossing is now hiring for positions across gaming operations, food and beverage and hospitality. Hiring is expected to begin in September, with jobs posted on the casino's website, LinkedIn and Indeed.

The casino also announced its Points Partner Program, which will let guests redeem reward points at more than 20 local businesses. The program is designed to keep entertainment dollars in the local economy and support the Cedar Rapids community.

A shuttle service will connect visitors to hotels, downtown attractions and cultural areas like the Czech Village and New Bohemia. The property will contribute 8% of its net adjusted gross revenue to the Linn County Gaming Association to support nonprofit organizations throughout the Corridor.
