Chile: Casinos authorized by Law Nº 19.995 generates US$ 187,603 in tax collection in 2018

(Chile).- Chile Casino Superintendence informed that, during 2018, casinos authorized by Law 19.995 contributed with a total of $ 126.338 million in tax.

Of that total, US$ 80,835correspond to the specific tax allocated to the Regional and Local Governments where they operate, in order to finance work in development, which means a 5% growth compared to 2017.
Besides, $ 79,5907 were generated due to VAT payment andUS$ 27,177in taxes on casino entrance, which is allocated to national general funds, which means a 5.2% and 2.3% rise compared to last year.
On the other hand, the casino industry –comprised by the 18 casinos authorized by Law 19.995 and the seven local casinos registered, in 2018, gross gaming income (win) of US$715,623, which means a real accumulated growth of 3.1% compared in 2017.
When the numbers were presented, the Casino Superintendent, Vivien Villagrán, remarked that “the contribution that this industry makes in the territories in which they are located, through specific gaming tax, is the only one that exists in Chile at a national level.”
