(Las Vegas).- The Durango Casino & Resort has officially kicked off the third phase of a large-scale expansion in southwest Las Vegas, a US$385 million project that will add 275,000 square feet of new gaming, entertainment and leisure offerings over the next 18 months.

Durango Casino & Resort Launches Phase III Expansion With Bowling, Theaters and Expanded Gaming Floor

Durango Casino & Resort continues to strengthen its position in the Las Vegas locals market with the start of construction on Phase III of its multi-stage expansion plan. The latest development represents a significant investment aimed at broadening the property’s appeal beyond gaming, while enhancing the overall guest experience.

The new phase follows the recent completion of the Phase II south expansion, which introduced more than 25,000 square feet of additional casino space and a high-limit slot room. With Phase III now underway, Durango is set to significantly scale up its footprint and diversify its entertainment mix.

Expanded Gaming and Entertainment Offerings

According to the project outline, the expansion will introduce approximately 400 additional slot machines, further reinforcing the resort’s gaming portfolio. Beyond the casino floor, plans include a 36-lane bowling center designed to attract both casual visitors and league play, as well as a luxury movie theater complex aimed at positioning the property as a full-service entertainment destination.

The development will also incorporate new dining and nightlife concepts, reflecting an ongoing industry trend toward integrated leisure experiences that combine gaming with food, entertainment and social venues.

Construction is expected to span roughly 18 months, with an estimated total investment of US$385 million. Importantly, the resort confirmed that all existing amenities will remain fully operational throughout the build, ensuring uninterrupted service for guests.

Once completed, the Phase III expansion is expected to further solidify Durango Casino & Resort’s role as a key entertainment hub in southwest Las Vegas, aligning with broader market shifts that prioritize diversified, non-gaming amenities alongside traditional casino offerings.
