(Macau).- After nearly 18 years in Macau, Casino Kam Pek Paradise will shut its doors on December 1, with staff transitions and support plans in place as SJM prepares for the end of its satellite operations by 2025.
Casino Kam Pek Paradise has announced that December 1 will mark its final day of operations, making it one of the last three satellite casinos scheduled for closure by the end of 2025.
In a Wednesday statement, SJM confirmed that all local employees will be retained and reassigned to other operations within the group. For those not directly employed by the gaming company, SJM said they would be invited to apply for positions within the organization, with “necessary support” provided based on individual circumstances.
According to a separate government statement, Kam Pek currently employs 584 staff members.
Located near Casino Lisboa in downtown Macau, Kam Pek opened its doors in December 2007. The property spans a gaming area of 200,000 square feet and is noted on its website as the world’s first “e-casino.”
Paradise Entertainment, the operator of Kam Pek, reported in its 2025 interim results that the casino generated HK$382.6 million (US$50 million / MOP392.4 million) in revenue during the first half of the year, up from HK$356.5 million in the same period the previous year—accounting for over 75% of the group’s total revenue during that time.
