Fountainebleau announced opening on Strip’s north end

(Las Vegas).- After years of delays, dormancy, sales, restarts and unfulfilled potential, an official announcement has been made regarding the opening of the Fontainebleau on the north end of the Strip.
A specific date hasn’t been set, but the 67-story, 3,644-room hotel-casino will open in December. Plans for the resort were originally announced in 2005, with an opening scheduled for 2008. Since then, ownership and even the name was changed. But with the original owner now back at the helm, the original name has been restored.
The sister property to the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is the brand’s first expansion into Las Vegas and the west coast.
The hotel will be a destination unto itself with approximately 3,644 rooms and suites, gaming space, a world-class collection of restaurants, retail, pool experiences, vibrant day and nightlife, health and wellness offerings, and meetings and convention space.
Fontainebleau Las Vegas was designed for ultimate accessibility, with the hotel, retail space, casino floor, food and beverage venues, and entertainment venues all integrated around the podium-like shape of the building. The property will open up the North end of the Strip and usher in the next generation of luxury hospitality in one of the world’s most-visited cities.
