Las Vegas Sands Closes Sands Digital Services, Shifts Focus to Casino Investments in Macau and Singapore

Las Vegas Sands Corp has decided to shut down its digital gaming project Sands Digital Services, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Instead, Las Vegas Sands will continue to maintain its focus on gaming assets in Macau and Singapore, as per comments from President and Chief Operations Officers Patrick Dumont.

Sands Digital Services was created in a bid to establish a platform for iGaming, with an inclusion of a studio and live dealers offering wagering that could be streamed to licensed internet gambling locations.

The decision to shut down Sands Digital Services was made when company officials determined that the project would not be a good strategic fit for the company.

“Ultimately, we reached a moment in which it was clear to executive leadership and our board of directors that further pursuit of this business was no longer aligned with the company’s core long-term objectives,” Dumont said.

Additional statements from the company retain their stance on continuously pouring effort in their casinos in Macau and Singapore.

Sands has invested heavily into the Venetian Macao and several other hotel casinos, as well as setting up a major expansion for the Marina Bay Sands property in Singapore.

We continually meet and exceed the commitments we have made to our host markets in Macao and Singapore,” Dumont said.

As a company, we have much to look forward to in the years to come.”
