Progress in Casino Licensing Processes for Viña del Mar and Beyond

(Santiago).- The Free Competition Defense Court (TDLC) has dismissed requests to halt bidding processes across several municipalities, meaning the reception of offers will proceed according to the established August 2026 schedule.
TDLC Rejects Suspension Requests
On July 28, the Free Competition Defense Court (TDLC) ruled against the appeals filed by Marina del Sol S.A. and Corporación Meier S.A.C., who sought to pause the granting of a gaming operating permit in Viña del Mar.
Additionally, the court denied a joint request by Corporación Meier S.A.C. and Dreams S.A. that aimed to suspend the bidding processes not only in Viña del Mar but also in the municipalities of Iquique, Coquimbo, and Pucón. This decision upholds the stance the TDLC had already established on July 2, which was based on the background information and reports provided by the Superintendency of Gaming Casinos (SCJ).
Bid Presentation Date Remains Unchanged
As a result of these rulings, the original schedule will not undergo any modifications. The Technical and Economic Offers Presentation Hearing, intended to define the operations in Iquique, Coquimbo, Viña del Mar, and Pucón, will take place exactly as planned.
The meeting is scheduled for August 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and will be held at the SCJ headquarters, located at Morandé 360, Santiago.
