(Gumpoldskirchen/Rostock).- The newly opened Spielbank Rostock offers over 1,300 m² of premium gaming and entertainment, blending classic live tables, next-generation NOVOMATIC technology, and eco-conscious innovation to set new benchmarks in the German casino industry.
The grand opening of Spielbank Rostock marked a new milestone for premium entertainment in northern Germany. Officially inaugurated on October 16, the modern venue combines innovative technology, sustainable architecture, and exclusive entertainment experiences, establishing a new standard for casinos in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

During an exclusive pre-opening ceremony, guests from politics, business, and media joined the management of Spielbanken MV GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of NOVOMATIC AG Group, and NOVOMATIC Executive Board Member Stefan Krenn, who emphasized the project’s role as a benchmark for sustainable investment and regional development.
The celebration featured live music by the Rostock band 4FUN and pianist Maximilian Kraft, setting the stage for a festive evening of entertainment and fine dining. “With the new Spielbank Rostock, we’ve created an experience that goes far beyond traditional gaming,” said Thomas Fritz, Managing Director of Spielbanken MV GmbH & Co. KG. “It’s a space that fuses technology, design, and responsibility with a strong regional identity.”
A highlight of the night was the unveiling of BOLD, the venue’s exclusive new event area — a stylish club space featuring a modern bar, lounge, and stage for live entertainment, themed events, and poker tournaments with up to ten tables.
A Cutting-Edge Gaming Experience
As the only casino in the region to offer both live table games and electronic gaming, Spielbank Rostock provides a diverse experience across more than 1,300 square meters. Guests can enjoy Roulette, Blackjack, and Poker tables, along with around 130 state-of-the-art NOVOMATIC gaming terminals.
The venue incorporates sustainable energy solutions, including thermal insulation, heat recovery from gaming terminals, and a rooftop photovoltaic system to reduce its carbon footprint.
The NOVOVISION™ casino management system serves as the backbone of operations, ensuring maximum security and compliance through automated checks against Germany’s OASIS exclusion database. It also manages all gaming terminals, jackpots, access controls, and AML monitoring, guaranteeing smooth and responsible operations.
A Boost for Regional Tourism and Economy
With an investment of approximately EUR 8.9 million and the creation of 90 new jobs, Spielbank Rostock represents not only the most modern casino in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern but also a key driver for local tourism and economic growth.
