(USA).- Gather around, heroes - Overwatch arrives on the Nintendo Switch this October.

Overwatch is coming to the Nintendo Switch

During September's Nintendo Direct presentation, the popular team-based online shooter Overwatch's Switch arrival was announced with a release date of October 15, 2019. The Switch port of Blizzard's iconic shooter will be called Overwatch: Legendary Edition, similar to previous rereleases of the game. Players will be able to redeem a 3-month subscription code for Nintendo Switch Online and 15 Hero skins- 5 Legendary, 5 Epic and 5 Origin skins - with their purchase of the game. Eager players who buy Overwatch on Switch at its $39.99 price tag will also grab the Noire skin for Widowmaker as a preorder bonus.

For those wondering if you have enough memory on your console/handheld hybrid, Overwatch's file size comes in at 12.1 GB. It's not clear whether all of the post-release characters and maps will be included, or if they'll need to be downloaded after installing the game. Either way, it may not be a bad idea to make some room on your Switch as Blizzard occasionally updates the online competitive shooter. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to play the game's various online modes. No announcement was made regarding save-data transfers, so it looks like veteran Overwatch players may need to start from scratch if they pick the game up on Switch.

Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Overwatch arrives on the Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2019.
