(Cartagena de Indias, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Joaquín Gago, BetanDeal Group CEO and Founder, granted an interview to SoloAzar within GAT EXPO 2021, where he shared his experience of returning to a traditional show after almost two years. "It is the third time we visit GAT but it is our first time as exhibitors in such an important show," he commented.

BetanDeal made its debut as an exhibiting company in GAT Expo 2021

BetanDeal is a Spanish company affiliated with the online gambling sector, whose main task is to generate traffic to bookmakers. The company is growing in Latin America, with Colombia, Mexico, Peru and recently also Brazil being its main markets.

What is it like to return to a typical fair, after almost two years?
It was about time, because this business is online, so we usually do not have physical contact with suppliers and customers, not because of the pandemic but because of the idiosyncrasy of the sector. That's why, in the end, it is very positive to have events like this, iwhere we can meet and have personal relationships and networking, which is essential in the online industry, in which there is no other way to reach customers.

What markets do you cover today?
We were born in Spain, which is our main market. Within Europe we also have content in Portuguese for Portugal, in Italian for Italy, so therefore, and for linguistic reasons, we target Latin American countries, both Spanish-speaking and Portuguese. As of today, as Colombia is a regulated market, with clear rules and assurances for foreign investment, it is much more favorable than others, it is one of our main markets in Latin America, along with Brazil, Mexico, and then, in a second level, countries such as Peru, Chile, and then Ecuador would appear.

Currently, with the new regulation that will be in force in Argentina, we are trying to create content and make our own strategy for the country, since many of our partners already work in other Spanish-speaking countries, such as Colombia or Mexico. Tha's the case of Codere, Betfair, BetWarrior, which are companies that are going to obtain licenses in Argentina. So our objective is that, when the law is in force in Argentina, we can go through that market as well.

What are your goals for the remainder of this year?
As for face-to-face events, we attend SBC Barcelona as speakers and we are nominated for the awards that will be given later at the Miami event. I don't know if we will go to that one, but we will go to Barcelona show, to IGB Amsterdam and to the one in São Paulo, if it is held. The objective of all these fairs is to warm up for the London fair, which is the largest event in the sector.
