(Cartagena, Soloazar Exclusive).- Carlos Carrión, Vice President of International Sales and Business Development at Slotcycle, makes a review and expresses his satisfaction with the company's participation at GAT Expo Cartagena 2025.

Carlos Carrión from Slotcycle: "During GAT Expo Cartagena 2025, we made progress in key negotiations with local operators and associations"

How would you describe your company’s experience at GAT Expo Cartagena 2025?

Our experience at GAT Cartagena 2025 was extremely positive. This event gave us the opportunity to interact directly with operators and regulators in the Colombian market, one of the most dynamic and demanding in Latin America. SlotCycle continues to strengthen its presence in the region, and Cartagena was the perfect setting to reaffirm our commitment to the local and regional gaming industry.

Would you like to share any highlights from GAT Cartagena, such as deals closed, new partnerships, or regional office expansions?

Yes, during the event we made progress in key negotiations with local operators and associations, with whom we are working to finalize agreements for the supply of refurbished machines. We also held very productive meetings with local distributors who will facilitate our direct entry into new departments across Colombia.

GAT Academy

What did you think of GAT Academy in Cartagena? Do you consider these types of educational events important?

GAT Academy was one of the most valuable aspects of the event. We firmly believe that shared knowledge strengthens the entire value chain of the industry. The presentations provided relevant insights on regulation, technological innovation, and sustainability—topics that are fully aligned with SlotCycle’s vision. Educational events like this not only elevate the industry standard but also allow suppliers like us to hear firsthand the concerns and expectations of the market.

What is SlotCycle’s overall impression of the Cartagena event? Will you return next year, and would you recommend it to others?

Absolutely. GAT Cartagena is a strategic fixture in SlotCycle’s annual calendar. The organization was impeccable, attendance exceeded our expectations, and the environment was ideal for building valuable connections. We certainly plan to return in 2026 with an even stronger presence, and we highly recommend the event to any company seeking a real understanding of the Colombian market and meaningful business opportunities.

The Colombian market

How do you view the current development of the Colombian market in terms of demand for refurbished equipment and regulatory compliance?

The Colombian market is showing growing interest in refurbished solutions, especially among mid-size and small operators who want to optimize their investment without compromising on quality or compliance. Local regulations require specific configurations and technical approvals, so we work closely with operators to ensure our solutions are 100% aligned with COLJUEGOS guidelines.

What role does sustainability play in SlotCycle’s value proposition, and how does it relate to the Colombian market?

Our business model is based on reuse and refurbishment, which significantly reduces the environmental impact of the gaming machine lifecycle. We see that Colombian operators are increasingly interested in adopting sustainable practices, not only for social responsibility reasons but also for operational efficiency. This year, during GAT Academy, there was a particularly insightful presentation by Elizabeth Maya, President of CORNAZAR, that focused specifically on sustainability. It clearly highlighted that this topic is firmly on the agenda of the Colombian gaming market, and that the industry is genuinely committed to adopting more responsible and sustainable business models.

The Mexican market

The next GAT Producciones event will be GAT Mexico. What are SlotCycle’s expectations for this event, considering your experience with GAT and the involvement of AIEJA as a strategic partner?

We have high expectations for GAT Mexico. GAT Producciones is known for hosting well-structured events with a clear vision of strengthening the markets they serve, and AIEJA’s involvement adds significant strategic value—particularly given their close ties with Mexican operators and their active role in industry development.

Mexico is a top-priority market for SlotCycle, both due to its size and the maturity of its regulatory framework. Attending GAT Mexico will allow us to get even closer to local operators, better understand their current challenges, and present our refurbished solutions directly. We hope to forge new alliances, identify regional partners, and continue establishing SlotCycle as a reliable, efficient supplier fully aligned with the needs of the Mexican market.
