(Brussels).- With this year’s European Safer Gambling Week approaching on 17-23 November 2025, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is inviting stakeholders to participate in this annual event by organising safer gambling-themed events and activities across Europe. These initiatives should promote safer gambling, raise awareness about important help resources and services, or foster sector-wide collaboration to enhance player protection.

EGBA Events and Activities for European Safer Gambling Week 2025

Last year’s edition saw unprecedented success, with participation from 195 partners across 26 countries, 3.1 million social media users reached with important safer gambling messages, and 20 events hosted across Europe bringing together over 3,000 attendees to discuss the latest developments in safer gambling. Building on this momentum, EGBA is setting ambitious goals for European Safer Gambling Week 2025.

“We’re excited to build on the really positive momentum of last year’s edition for the upcoming European Safer Gambling Week 2025. The initiative has become Europe’s leading platform for safer gambling awareness. Last year, there were many fantastic events and discussions organised during the week by a range of stakeholders, and we encourage organisations to start planning any events or activities now,” said Maarten Haijer, Secretary General, EGBA.

This year marks the fifth edition of European Safer Gambling Week, and will be underpinned by a player-facing social media campaign sharing important safety messages in local languages and an array of workshops designed to share best practices and tips and facilitate meaningful discussions about the latest developments in regulation and research.[1]

EGBA invites stakeholders across the sector, including operators, trade associations, harm-prevention organisations, national authorities, technology providers, support organisations, and experts-by-experience, to participate in European Safer Gambling Week 2025 by, for example:

  1. Organising events such as webinars, workshops, or panel discussions.
  2. Announcing or launching new safer gambling initiatives during the week.
  3. Contributing to the social media campaign.
  4. Hosting training sessions for staff or customers.
  5. Releasing research, surveys, or data insights on safer gambling.
  6. Partnering with support organisations to raise awareness of help services.

Stakeholders interested in participating in European Safer Gambling Week 2025 are encouraged to contact us for more information and to register any planned events. To assist planning, and avoid scheduling conflicts as much as possible, we encourage stakeholders to register their planned events with us as soon as possible.

Branding materials, including logos and social media graphics in local languages, will be available upon request in September 2025 to support your planned initiatives.
