(Las Vegas, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Marcel Heutmekers, IGT Senior Vice President Gaming, Latin America, spoke exclusively with SoloAzar about the company’s participation at the last edition of G2E Las Vegas. “There were more than 300 slot games within our G2E booth, including a dedicated International section that featured exciting themes specific to IGT’s roadmap for Latin America,” he said.

“G2E was a productive show for IGT”

What is your assessment on the presentation of the company in this edition of G2E?

G2E was a productive show for IGT. A major focal point within our booth was our core video area where we demonstrated our progress in this segment with high-performing games such as SCARAB™, Fortune Coin™, and Mistress of Egypt. These exciting titles excelled in IGT’s test bank program and achieved Proven Performer status. These games will be making their way onto casino floors throughout Latin America over the next few months, and we are confident that players will enjoy these Proven Performer titles.

What novelties did you bring to G2E?

There were more than 300 slot games within our G2E booth, including a dedicated International section that featured exciting themes specific to IGT’s roadmap for Latin America. In my view, our expanded multi-level progressive library for the CrystalCurve cabinet was a standout. We continue to achieve meaningful market penetration with MLP titles such as Fort Knox and Harley-Davidson in Latin America, and our customers were excited by the new MLPs that we displayed including Golden Goddess, Jurassic Park Trilogy, and three new Fort Knox base games on the CrystalCurve cabinet.

What does G2E mean for the company?

G2E is a very important show for IGT as it provides an opportunity to introduce new games and solutions, and showcase the depth and breadth of our product portfolio to our valued customers from around the world. I was particularly excited to show our Latin America customers the wide variety of core titles that will be making their market arrival in Latin America casinos over the next several months.

Sports betting is currently a central issue in the United States. What is your opinion about it?

It’s exciting to see IGT extend its long-established leadership in sports betting to the emerging U.S. sports betting market. IGT is committed to its position as the number one B2B sports betting solutions provider. We can supply commercial, tribal and lottery operators with a turn-key, proven platform to participate in the rapidly evolving U.S. sports betting market. Among the many solutions within IGT’s PlayDigital area, we debuted the CrystalBetting™ Terminal which is a slot machine-inspired cabinet that provides customers with a comfortable way to enjoy in-play and pre-match wagering while watching their favorite sporting events.

Millennials are the players of the present and the future, how does the company adapt to them?

Expanding the scope of players who enjoy IGT games and solutions is always an area of focus for IGT. We believe we can do this a variety of ways – through meaningful technologies such as TRUE 4D, mobile innovations such as Cardless Connect, well-known licensed brands, skill-based games, and electronic table games. We believe close alignment with our customers is essential so we can meet the demands of their current players and address future opportunities with an expanded pool of players.
