GAT Events Set for 2nd San Juan Edition
On September 9, GAT Expo Puerto Rico 2026 will present an agenda of conferences and panels focused on knowledge regarding regulation, innovation, and market evolution, accompanied by a commercial exhibition featuring booths with local and international brands in a networking space specially designed for the Caribbean and Americas industry.
One of the central pillars of the meeting will be GAT Talks, the academic agenda that will gather authorities, regulators, operators, suppliers, and experts who will analyze the present of the Puerto Rican gaming and betting industry, identifying the challenges and opportunities marking this historic moment in its evolution.
The official opening will be led by Attorney Juan Carlos Santaella, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, and José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events, who will welcome attendees, accompanied by the regulatory body's executive staff and special guests.
Puerto Rico: from today's market to tomorrow's industry
The GAT Talks program will kick off with the conference “Puerto Rico: From Today's Market to Tomorrow's Industry,” by Attorney Juan Carlos Santaella, who will offer the Gaming Commission's perspective on market evolution and the current conditions accompanying the sector's development on the island. Puerto Rico has 78 municipalities whose citizens are responding positively to novel regulatory proposals that include route machines, fantasy sports, the land-based casino vertical, horse racing, and sports betting, which are deeply rooted in the DNA of the Puerto Rican people.
Next, Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) will participate with the conference “Puerto Rico: Leading the Evolution of Regulated Gaming in the Caribbean,” headed by Attorney José Carlos Figueroa, Regional Manager for the Caribbean, bringing to the table Puerto Rico's positioning within the region's regulated gaming ecosystem, and the leading and indispensable role of laboratory certification as a guarantor of quality and transparency in the arrival and operation of new games.
The program then presents the panel “The Next Move: Innovation, Regulation, and the Future in Puerto Rico,” led by the Government Gaming Commission, the highest regulatory authority in Puerto Rico. The moderator responsible for leading this discussion is Attorney Alexandra Fuertes, current Director of Legal Advice for the Commission, and it will feature the participation of Attorney Lorraine Irizarry, Director of the Games of Chance Bureau.
This dialogue among experts will allow for an in-depth look at the main regulatory and responsible gaming challenges arising from innovation, technology, and the market's transformation toward a sustainable future.
Experience, product, and industry overview
The afternoon schedule for Wednesday the 9th will feature the presence of Attorney Jaime Rivera, former director of the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and partner at Saiber LLC, who will contribute his experience, knowledge, and perspective on the momentum and expectations of the local market.
Next, the firm Amusnet will hold a Master Class on slot product analysis, presented by Daniel Arias, Amusnet Director for the Caribbean, Colombia, and Central America, bringing to GAT Talks a specialized look at the product and evolution of the market offering, addressing fundamental variables to optimize machine performance and business profitability. Likewise, he will share tools for understanding player behavior and achieving a strategic balance among experience, gaming volume, and profitability.
The academic closing will be an analysis on “The DNA of Gaming in Puerto Rico: Retrospective and Sustainable Future,” featuring the participation of María Cristina Mari García, Senior Vice President of Hipódromo Camarero; Lorna Huertas, advisor to the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and former Assistant Secretary of the Lottery Bureau; and Jaime Alex Irizarry, Director of Operations at Royal Gaming Logistics. The panel will also integrate representatives from the land-based casino and sports betting segments and will be moderated by José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony that will open the booth exhibition will take place at 10 a.m. at The Condado Plaza Hotel, second level, gathering an innovative offering of products, technology, services, and solutions aimed at the variety of gaming verticals operating in Puerto Rico.
Among the companies, organizations, and brands present in the Grand Ballroom are: Aristocrat, GLI, Novomatic, Gamanza, Mobadoo, Fortune Group Games, EAS Systems, EEZE, Counting Equipment & Supplies, Bad Dog Games, TVC Gaming, Bloomcrest, Caribbean Gaming Technologies, Royal Gaming Logistics, Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, Amusnet Interactive, Hipódromo Camarero, Prometeo, Oklahoma, Caribe Gaming, Gem Solutions, and Caribbean Gaming Distributors.

Global brands such as Novomatic and Aristocrat Gaming have also joined as sponsors. The roster is complemented by the firms Gamanza and Mobadoo.
"The mix of a specialized commercial exhibition, an agenda of high-level conferences and panels closely connected to the reality of the jurisdiction, and the participation of important local and international players allows us to affirm that GAT Expo Puerto Rico will be a gathering that will provide knowledge, new business, and alliances for all participants, as well as an invitation for the integration and unity of the local industry. I am pleased to announce that operators from the bureaus of games of chance, route machines, sports betting, equestrian agencies, and lotteries have confirmed their attendance," comments José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events.
The closing of the day will take place at 7:00 p.m. with a lively closing cocktail and networking event, providing an optimal space to build ties and strengthen relationships among entrepreneurs, authorities, and professionals of this global ecosystem that benefits significant social and governmental projects in Puerto Rico.
