ICE Barcelona: Gamecheck Named Lead Sponsor of the Sustainable Gaming Zone

(Barcelona).- The blockchain-based game verification company strengthens its commitment to player protection and online gaming integrity by leading the Sustainable Gaming Zone at ICE Barcelona 2026.

ICE Barcelona: Gamecheck Named Lead Sponsor of the Sustainable Gaming Zone

Gamecheck, a company that uses blockchain-based technology to enable operators to verify the legitimacy of every game on their platform and protect their brands from fraudulent implementations, has been named Lead Sponsor of the Sustainable Gaming Zone (SGZ) at ICE Barcelona.

Confirming the sponsorship, Gamecheck founder James Elliott stated that the SGZ has become the industry’s leading platform for promoting player protection and safer gambling practices. “The Sustainable Gaming Zone has been at the forefront of advances in safer gambling, and through this sponsorship we will demonstrate our unwavering commitment to player protection and to enhancing the overall integrity of online gambling,” Elliott said.

He added that the sponsorship aligns Gamecheck’s brand values with the industry’s most respected player protection initiative, while also providing the ideal environment to showcase how the company actively helps operators and suppliers combat fake, cloned, or manipulated games.

Player protection built on verifiable solutions

According to Elliott, Gamecheck’s approach to player protection is grounded in practical, auditable solutions. “We’re not talking about player protection in theoretical terms. We provide operators with the tools they need to prove they are delivering legitimate, fair gaming experiences, while also protecting their brands from fraudulent practices that can seriously damage their reputation.”

ICE and the SGZ: a global benchmark for sustainable gaming

Elliott highlighted ICE’s long-standing leadership in promoting sustainable gaming. “Since the SGZ was launched in 2018, many conferences have introduced similar initiatives, but ICE remains the undisputed leader in this space. The depth of content, the calibre of stakeholders and ICE’s consistent commitment to advancing the sustainable gaming agenda year after year make it the natural home for innovations that genuinely prioritise player wellbeing.”

Sustainable gaming as a competitive advantage

Elliott stressed that sustainable gaming is not only a regulatory or ethical requirement, but also a strategic business necessity. “The threat posed by the black market is becoming increasingly significant for the industry. While sustainable gaming requirements may initially seem burdensome, they represent the most viable path for the industry to thrive in the long term, building consumer trust and reducing regulatory risk.”

He also warned of the consequences of failing to address issues such as fake games and manipulated return-to-player rates. “From a purely commercial perspective, the cost of not prioritising sustainable gaming far outweighs the cost of regulatory compliance.”

Looking ahead to ICE Barcelona, Elliott concluded: “Whether you are an operator concerned about cloned versions of your games, a supplier looking to protect your intellectual property, or a platform seeking to differentiate itself through verified fair play, Gamecheck offers a solution. Every operator that commits to game verification makes the entire ecosystem safer and more trustworthy for players.”

The Sustainable Gaming Zone will once again be one of ICE’s most popular features, with a prominent new location between Halls 4 and 5 and a redesigned open layout. The SGZ offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore emerging technologies, engage with charities and individuals with lived experience, and take part in essential discussions about the future of safer gambling regulation

Visit stand SG21 to see how Gamecheck is raising industry standards, protecting brands, safeguarding players and preserving the integrity of the gaming industry.

ICE Barcelona will take place at Fira Barcelona Gran Via from 19–21 January 2026.
