ICE World Gaming Forum Content Themes

Combating the Illegal Market… and Protecting Players:

As Europe tightens gambling regulations, illegal markets are resurging. Tax changes, AML scrutiny, and ad restrictions pressure licensed operators, while unregulated sites exploit flexibility and crypto options. Regulators must balance consumer protection with innovation to keep legal markets competitive, especially in fast-growing regions like Latin America and Africa.

Looking to the Edge on Land-Based Growth in Europe:
Land-based casinos in Europe face growing competition from resorts and digital play. Success demands rethinking limited space, integrating food, entertainment, and gaming. Omni-channel expansion, cruise and street gaming diversification, and B2B collaboration drive growth, emphasizing experience, efficiency, and sustained engagement over short-term gaming revenues.

Collaboration in Sports Betting, from Marketing to Integrity:
Data, AI, and Big Tech partnerships are transforming sports betting, enabling personalized marketing and real-time integrity monitoring. Balancing engagement with data security and compliance is vital. Growth in Esports, MENA, LatAm, and North America hinges on innovation that enhances transparency, trust, and responsible betting practices.

iGaming Personalization, Doing More with Less:
AI-driven personalization defines modern iGaming. Operators use data for precise segmentation, optimizing engagement and lifetime value. Responsible design is key to maintaining trust and profitability. Drawing from entertainment tech, brands can deliver tailored experiences efficiently—focusing on sustainable personalization that balances excitement with ethical player protection.

Lottery Technology and Innovation, Rethinking Regulation:
Lotteries are evolving through digitization, gamification, and hybrid formats. New prize models attract younger, experience-driven players but create regulatory challenges. To sustain trust and growth, frameworks must adapt to tech-driven convergence, balancing innovation with integrity in a rapidly changing global market.

Evolving Threats, Bonus Abuse and Cyberattacks:
Cyberattacks in gambling have surged 70% since 2022, costing nearly €1 billion yearly. Fraud tactics like deepfakes and bonus abuse demand AI-driven defenses and biometric safeguards. Operators now treat cybersecurity as core to trust and competitiveness, prioritizing proactive, integrated risk management across technology, compliance, and operations.
