Konami exhibited its products at ICE

What are you showing in this edition of ICE?

This year our main theme is content and progressives. We are showing more than 100 different games in the stand and we have more than five types of different progressive: simple, more complex, community, without being community, with bonus extras, which are quite interesting.

In terms of cabinets, we have Concerto that is our main platform and we are also bringing Concerto Stack and Concerto Crescent, which are our 43" vertical screens.

How do you see the show?

The fair is pretty good this year too. Basically the same compared to last year: the main customers were here and were interested in the products they saw, the variety of new games, the variety of progressive and the variety of cabinets as well.

What are Konami's strategies for this year?

Our fiscal year ends in March, so we are almost in the last month of the fiscal year. But, starting the year we want to expand, expand and expand. We are already well established in the European market and now we are expanding more and more with all customers, gaining more floor share in the casinos.

How do you see the European market?

The European market is quite stable: it did not grow much, but it did not go down either. It is quite competitive because not only are our traditional competitors, but there are several local competitors and all have very good products.

How does the company adapt to new players?

We have two ways: the first is that we have to maintain what already exists, a large part of the products we launch are aimed at maintaining the group of customers that the casinos have today. But Konami is always launching new concepts that will help customers attract new customers. It is a commitment of the company to always be innovating in order to help operators.

How do you see the future of the industry globally?

The industry is quite established, almost all countries already have casinos or games rooms and there are not many more expansions. So for us as manufacturers the big market is the replacement market, which is quite competitive. But in terms of growth I think the industry is going to stay the same as it is today.
