Merkur Gaming brings sunshine to G2E
⏱ 3 min read
(Las Vegas).- At G2E, an event prefaced an act of senseless violence, the international gaming industry stood together in solidarity and with great dignity, as the show went ahead as planned.
Merkur Gaming took its place at G2E as a leading exhibitor and played its part to the full. On a booth with over 100 games on display and among the many attractions were the first two Merkur Gaming productions created in the United States, by the United States and for the United States. These games, Taco Tuesday and Amulet of the Pharaoh are the debut creations of Las Vegas based Sunshine Games. The company was itself celebrating its first anniversary – having made its debut at G2E 2016. This rapidly expanding subsidiary of Merkur Gaming Americas is headed by the charismatic industry veteran Mike Halvorson as Chief Development Officer. The two new titles, Taco Tuesday and Amulet of the Pharaoh have vastly different themes and artwork. Taco Tuesday is a cartoon style and fast paced fun game, featuring all good things Taco and a truly enjoyable gaming experience. Amulet of the Pharaoh is an Egyptian themed game that has strength in depth in its presentation and features Big Symbol free games and the Whole Lotta Wilds free games feature. Both of these games received hugely positive reactions from stand visitors and highlight a new and exciting direction for Merkur Gaming in the United States.
Another standout highlight at G2E was that the Merkur Gaming Black Series cabinets were extensively – almost completely – featured, across displays of Avantgarde, Avantgarde Trio, Merkurstar and Evostar product variants. This design concept, first shown at ICE in London, marks out the latest Merkur Gaming cabinet offerings as a dramatic design option that makes a feature statement on any casino floor. Highlighting the reality of black editions, in many different market segments, as standing for added value, opulence and high end attraction, the G2E presentation by Merkur Gaming was, without doubt, ‘cool’: because cool is black or, alternatively, black is cool.
Merkur Gaming had entitled its entire G2E presentation to be a Games Landscape and, with over 100 individual games on display, so it was. As well as the games presentation, the Gauselmann Group was represented by the presence and active participation of Group subsidiary companies GeWeTe, market leaders in cash handling solutions, sports betting experts Cashpoint and the dedicated e-gaming gurus of Edict. Also on show, and representative of the Gauselmann Group’s expertise in high tech solutions was a demonstration of the innovative Face Check contactless admission control system that is based on biometric facial features and which is currently the only admission system that gives youth protection without the need to present documents.
Charles Hiten, Chief Executive of Merkur Gaming Americas, summarized his reaction to G2E by saying: “This has been a great show for Merkur Gaming and, indeed, for the entire Gauselmann Group. The number and variety of international visitors was exceptional, the products and solutions that we presented were universally well received and there is no doubt that our participation in Las Vegas has opened up a great many new business possibilities for the future. The presence of the new products from Sunshine Games was a very definite landmark for today and an indication of what will be forthcoming in the near future. Our entire team worked exceptionally hard throughout the show and it was an indication of a really positive event that the time from G2E’s first day opening to its third day close simply flew by. Hard work, but truly rewarding in every sense of the word.”
