(Lisbon, Exclusive SoloAzar).- In a recent interview with Gabriele De Lorenzi, director of WorldMatch, during the SBC Summit Lisbon, held from 24-26 September, he discussed key issues about the company's participation in the event and the relevance of the Portuguese market for the future of the gaming industry.
Gabriele De Lorenzi, director of WorldMatch, highlighted SBC Summit Lisbon as an excellent platform to showcase its innovative products: “It was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our innovative products to a broad audience”, he said, noting that the event exceeded his expectations. Despite being the first edition in Lisbon, the organisation, energy and level of attendance exceeded all expectations. “The diversity of attendees, from operators to affiliates, gave us valuable insights and new opportunities for collaboration”, he said.
Referring to their prior expectations, De Lorenzi acknowledged that they expected the event to be an important networking space, and these expectations were not only met, but exceeded. "Not only did we strengthen relationships with existing partners, but we also formed new connections with businesses and professionals that align with our goals for future growth", he commented.
On the growth of the gaming market in Portugal and Europe, De Lorenzi noted that the sector has seen solid development, largely thanks to consistent regulatory frameworks. He commented that “Compared to other regions such as the US and parts of Asia, Europe has been more consistent in its regulatory frameworks, which has fostered stability for companies like ours”. He added that “Portugal, in particular, is becoming a key market due to the increasing number of players and the demand for localized content.”
Then we asked him about his most notable products presented at the event, and De Lorenzi gave us details about his latest innovation.

What do you think was your most outstanding product that you have presented at this event?
Our most outstanding product at this event was undoubtedly our latest range of slots, which incorporate advanced gameplay mechanics and customizable features for operators. This innovation has been a key differentiator, allowing us to offer a more engaging user experience tailored to different markets.
How was the public's response to your brand/products during the show?
The public’s response was overwhelmingly positive. Visitors were particularly interested in the flexibility of our products and the way we’ve integrated cutting-edge technology to enhance user engagement. Many were impressed with how we localized our games for different markets while still maintaining a universal appeal.
What do you think is the place of AI and new technologies in your products?
We’re incorporating AI for personalized gaming experiences, predictive analytics for better player retention, and machine learning algorithms to refine game recommendations. These innovations are helping us stay ahead of industry trends and meet the evolving demands of operators and players alike.
How has the regulation of gambling in Portugal influenced your decision to participate in this event?
Portugal’s well-structured and transparent gambling regulations certainly played a role in our decision to participate. We see the country as a growing market with great potential, and being present at an event like SBC in Lisbon allows us to align more closely with regulatory changes and the needs of Portuguese operators.
As a final analysis, De Lorenzi highlighted the invaluable networking opportunities during the event. Through meaningful conversations with industry leaders, potential partners and regulators, WorldMatch was able to explore new alliances and expand its market presence. “The connections we made will be instrumental in driving our future projects", he said, highlighting the importance of these interactions for the company's growth.
