(Rio de Janeiro, SoloAzar Exclusive).- The event brought together operators, suppliers, affiliates, and influencers at a key moment: the first year of a regulated market in Brazil. Networking, innovation, and strategic debates set the agenda at Riocentro, from March 3 to 5.
The 2026 edition of SBC Rio has ended, but its repercussions will continue to resonate throughout the year. Conversations, networking, and learning were consolidated as pillars in these first 12 months of Brazil’s regulated market.
SBC Summit Rio represents an essential strategic opportunity for any company wishing to operate successfully in the country. Whether licensed operators in expansion, international brands interested in entering the market, suppliers with solutions adapted to the Brazilian context, or affiliates and influencers active in one of the world’s most dynamic markets, this event is the starting point—or a key milestone—in their journey in Brazil.
Innovation continues to set the pace in the industry
Magnho José, president of the Instituto de Jogo Legal and a leading figure in the sector, highlighted in conversation with SoloAzar: “This event here in Rio de Janeiro is of utmost importance. SBC Rio represents an important forum for the debate on legal gaming in Brazil. For me, moderating these talks was very important because, in addition to all the information, it added analysis of the first 12 months of the regulated market in Brazil, and allowed the country’s first operators to express their challenges, their problems, and how the market should behave so that the activity remains healthy in the coming years.”
Konami Gaming reinforced its commitment to growth with a stand at SBC Rio. Fabián Carrión and Leonardo Sosa Rojas pointed out that the company launches two new games every month and is present in all regulated regions of the Americas, including Peru, Paraguay, Argentina, and Panama.
1XBet promoted the Player Protection Report in Latin America. Simon Wetsbury, Strategic Advisor, explained: “We see that Latam is experiencing a ‘honeymoon’ in terms of regulation, and that it was the leading region in the application of technology, with 69% of operators applying real-time monitoring of player behavior, and 34% applying AI, more than the 30% in Western Europe. We see challenges around education, and the fact that player protection is not enshrined in the region. However, we see that 19% of operators are applying affordability checks, but that is due to the use of cash in Latin American society. Finally, there is a problem around education, since 50% of operators believe that players see gaming as a source of income. Therefore, we need to educate so that it is understood that gaming is a source of entertainment and not a way of generating income.”
From his stand, Juan Felipe Bravo of Digitain emphasized the importance of having official data to ensure the quality of sports betting operations, as well as highlighting the company’s key partnerships.
Jessica Quevedo of DS Virtual Gaming announced that the company already has the necessary certifications to operate in Brazil, where it showcased its full collection of games, including its signature greyhound races.
Sergio Longo, General Director of BetConstruct AI, highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in the development of the activity: “AI helps predict player behavior and is key to increasing operators’ profits.”
Meanwhile, Mateo Lenoble of Kambi pointed out that 95% of the company’s football trading is carried out with AI, betting strongly on innovation to offer a fast and stable platform.
A closing with projection
SBC Summit Rio 2026 was not only a space for exhibition and networking, but also a laboratory of ideas and strategies for the future of regulated gaming in Brazil. The diversity of voices and approaches made it clear that the industry is committed to innovation, player protection, and building a sustainable market.
With this edition, SBC Rio consolidates itself as the benchmark event in Latin America and marks the beginning of a cycle that will continue to evolve in the coming years. SoloAzar’s coverage accompanied every stage, and this closing reflects the magnitude of a gathering that is already part of the sector’s history.
