(Colombo).- New nomination criteria and strengthened licensing requirements of SiGMA aim to enhance transparency, fairness, and industry credibility.
After extensive discussions with trusted and influential industry leaders, SiGMA – the global events and media powerhouse for the gaming and tech sectors – has unveiled a series of strategic reforms to the structure of its eight regional Award ceremonies.
One of the key improvements centers on reinforcing the nomination and selection process. SiGMA is introducing more rigorous criteria to ensure greater transparency and integrity across all award categories. Going forward, all nominated companies must hold at least one valid operating license within the region of their nomination. This shift is designed to uphold SiGMA’s long-standing commitment to excellence, promoting a fairer system that celebrates innovation, credibility, and meaningful impact.
For example, to qualify for the SiGMA Euro-Med Awards, operators must possess a national license issued by at least one state within the Euro-Mediterranean region. Likewise, for SiGMA Central Europe, set to take place in Rome, nominees are required to hold a national license from at least one EU member state.
The same applies to SiGMA North America, where affiliates must be licensed in at least one state to qualify and advance to the shortlist.
The SiGMA Awards: Celebrating Global Excellence
Held alongside eight regional summits, the SiGMA Awards spotlight outstanding leaders and innovators across the gaming and tech industries, bringing together a top-tier audience for world-class networking, philanthropy, and recognition.
Elegant receptions hosted in spectacular venues help capture the signature brilliance of a truly premium awards evening. Yet behind the glamour, the event’s essence remains rooted in meaningful interactions, authentic connections, and a shared commitment to generosity and industry progress.
Mid ceremony, the spotlight shifts to the company’s charitable arm – the SiGMA Foundation, a pause to acknowledge the vital works being carried out in underserved communities around the globe. The now-iconic charity auction has become a favourite moment for delegates – an opportunity to give back, to participate in creating meaningful and measurable impact, and perhaps – to own an artwork or piece of memorabilia from a globally recognised artist.
Staged alongside each of SiGMA’s eight global summits, the awards shine a light on industry innovators and set the scene for high-level networking. Supported by the SiGMA Foundation, the event opens pathways to both professional opportunity and meaningful change.
SiGMA South Asia Awards
This year, the spotlight turns to the South Asian markets. On the eve of the summit, the prestigious SiGMA South Asia Awards will take place at the spectacular Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams resort in Sri Lanka. Across 20 categories, the evening will honour standout achievements – from breakthroughs in affiliation, payments, platform solutions, and product innovation, to the Hall of Game, which celebrates the visionary leaders shaping the future.
