(Malta, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Alexandros Gerontikos, Director Sales, Southern Europe – Sportradar; spoke exclusively with SoloAzar a few days before the opening of SiGMA 2018, to be held 28-30 November at Malta.

Sportradar to present its 360-degree betting offering at SiGMA

What will your presentation consist of in the next edition of SiGMA?

We are looking forward to being at SiGMA once again in 2018 to present our 360-degree betting offering. We provide everything a betting operator, no matter how large or small, needs in order to run a bookmaking business. This includes everything from data collection through to risk management, with our Managed Trading Services (MTS).

What are the expectations for the event?

It will be interesting to hear and engage in discussions around new technologies and trends, such as Blockchain, and how these sorts of things do, and will continue to, affect the industry. This goes hand-in-hand with our approach to innovation and our mission to remain at the forefront of technology.

We find audiences at events like SiGMA are always interested in our bespoke services like MTS, so we expect to be speaking a lot about this, as well as about our holistic knowledge on betting markets across the world.

The topic of the US may also come up as the market there continues to open. It will obviously have effects on the gaming industry across the world so we expect some will want to understand what it means and potentially how they can be part of it. We’ve been working with Leagues and Federations in the US for years now so are well-equipped to be able to provide this information and advice.

Why did you decide to participate?

Given that it is situated in a central location between Africa and Europe, and attracts more than 12,000 attendees across over 80 countries, it is the perfect opportunity for us as the world’s leading provider of sports betting and data services. We provide our solutions in markets across the globe, including the US, Latin America, Africa, Asia Pacific, the UK and Europe, so we have the knowledge and experience to be able to help inform and support anyone and everyone attending SiGMA.

What are the objectives of the company for SiGMA?

We are aiming to try to speak to as many clients, both current and prospective, as we can. Our knowledge and expertise is, like our betting offering, very comprehensive, with almost two decades of experience in betting and data. We want to continuously ensure our clients are armed with the information and solutions they need to run a successful operation. Once again, this can be anything required to establish a small start-up through to the effective risk, liability, and player management services required to drive higher margins, turnovers and profits.

What balance can make the industry in general in this year 2018?

It’s been a fairly tumultuous, albeit, exciting year for the industry with the US officially opening its doors to betting. With a number of clients in the industry already, we have been preparing for the US to open for a number of years now. We therefore have the knowledge required for any bookmaker, no matter where they are based in the world, who require more information on the US market, or how it will affect their market.

The more countries open their doors to regulated betting the better as, like we have seen with the US decision, it not only create a number of commercial opportunities, but, if done correctly can also help to create a safer betting industry globally. It is our aim to continue to help businesses across the industry do everything they can to leverage betting and entertainment opportunities in the most profitable and risk-free way possible.
