(Miami, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Javier Troncoso, Chief Revenue Officer and Director, Football Sites, granted an interview to SoloAzar within SBC Latin America. He spoke about the company, how they reached SBC and future goals, among other issues.
Futbol Sites is a digital sports media company. The operational base is in Buenos Aires, the commercial base is in Miami and it has offices in 9 countries, from Canada to Chile and Argentina in the south.
"We have more than 15 years of experience in the sports media industry, mainly focused on developing soccer-related websites, although in recent years we have been exploring new sports and new themes. Our most famous sites are: Bolavip.com, which is a regional site, with editions for countries throughout the region, then there is Redgol, which is the leading sports site in Chile, there is Fútbol Centroamérica, specialized in that region, and other slightly smaller verticals oriented to soccer teams, other entertainment topics and gaming beyond the specific sport, and in total we have more than 60 million users in the region, which makes us the leader in sports audience in Latin America ", explained Troncoso.
When asked about how they came to SBC Latin America, he replied: "It was born from the need on our part to get involved with the gaming and betting industry in general, and this has happened since Bet began to explode in the region in recent years. three years, since regulation began in Colombia, but we have been in existence for 15 years. We were born before the Betting boom. We are not a company that was born to be providers of sports betting operators and online casinos, however, we commercialize advertising, in recent years betting and gaming have become a very important industry, reaching 25% of our advertisers, therefore, this need to get involved in the industry arose, and that is how we made an alliance with people of SBC and they allow us to be here and participate in this event and in the conferences. We are also very happy with the relationship that we have generated with SBC ".
When asked if they are getting involved in the betting part, he commented: "We are not a bookmaker. We are dedicated to marketing our advertising space, to connecting our audience (which is what I said in the talk we had at SBC). We have more than 60 million football and sports fans every month, and of course that allows operators to connect this user base with their solutions, their games, their betting platforms in general. This does not mean that Those 60 million users are gamblers, surely it is still a very small percentage, however there is the joint challenge of managing to develop the industry in the region, and we understand the challenges and the needs that operators have and be able to develop the formats and the strategies to connect our audience with their platforms ".
Then he affirmed that it is the first time that Futbol Sites participates in an event like this. "We had had some participations in digital formats. We were looking forward to being in person, and I think it was worth it. In a way, the pandemic benefited us because in that time we grew a lot as a company. Several milestones passed that have allowed us to scale. Futbol Sites and its products, therefore, I think it was the whole period of the pandemic as a preparation to be able to arrive at such an event, as a much more mature company, and delivering real solutions to the people who attend the event."
Regarding the company's objectives for the remainder of this year, he announced the following: "There is little left, but we are already thinking about next year's World Cup, the World Cup that attracts all football fans, is our main objective. We continue to grow in audience, we continue to develop products, we continue to develop markets in countries where we are not so strong yet, and we continue to invest heavily in this regard. Our company was acquired at the beginning of the year by an investment group Canadian, called Playmaker, they have allowed us to have resources that we did not have before, and we were able to develop our full potential and hire high-level people. In that sense, we are working against the clock, 12 months before the next World Cup , to develop the products we have pending. We are launching our Bolavip app. We want to develop our full potential and help all stakeholders in this industry for the challenges that they will also have next year, where the World Cup is surely one of the most important milestones."
"We will be participating, thanks to the alliance with SBC, of the North American event in New Jersey, within a month. We hope to have a greater presence there, due to the incorporation of our team from Canada, and we already have to define our next year's calendar. Luckily there are a good number of events that will take place in the preview of the World Cup, with which we will try to be in as many events as possible, always trying to add value. Today we were at a conference, with the perspective of providing useful data for the industry, from a super honest perspective. We are not experts in betting and betting, that's what operators are for. But we can contribute from our knowledge of the audience of football fans, from a segment that is an active participant and another that is not, and that is where we have to work together, combining this knowledge, to develop this industry in a responsible way for everyone, obviously with the players and society in general, "he concluded.
