(London).- After the success of January’s sustainability campaign introduced at ICE and iGB Affiliate Barcelona, World Gaming (previously Clarion Gaming) has confirmed that it will implement phase two of the initiative at next month’s edition of iGB L!VE in London.

World Gaming Continues Sustainability Objectives at iGB L!VE

New Measures to Reduce Environmental Impact

The organizing team will build on the insights gained in Barcelona through a series of sustainability initiatives, including the implementation of the Better Stand Programme in partnership with exhibitors and contractors, the launch of the first iGB L!VE Sustainable Stand Award, the use of fully recycled gangway and feature carpets, and plastic-free badge holders for all attendees.

Driving Social and Environmental Responsibility

Reflecting on the program, Portfolio Director Margaret Dunn said:

“Our core aim is to promote social and environmental responsibility in the gaming community and we are committed to play a full part in that process.”

She highlighted that 56% of segregated waste was recycled in January, up from 47% in 2025, while 90% of the features built at ICE were fully reusable. Organizers are now aiming to reach 100% reusability at future editions.

Better Stands Programme Encourages Sustainable Exhibiting

To encourage greener stand construction, ICE and iGB Affiliate Barcelona introduced the Better Stands Programme alongside the new Most Sustainable Stand Award, which was won by Stockholm-based exhibitor Internet Vikings.

The initiative provides a framework for assessing and certifying sustainability through bronze, silver, and gold levels. Participating exhibitors must submit evidence of sustainable practices, including eco-friendly stand designs, responsible travel choices, and waste-reduction measures such as replacing printed materials with digital alternatives.

Growing Industry Commitment to Sustainability

According to Dunn, the increasing adoption of sustainable practices was reflected in 20 exhibitors achieving gold certification, the highest sustainability rating available under the program.

She also noted the active involvement of contractors, emphasizing that sustainability efforts extended throughout the event ecosystem.

Focus Turns to iGB L!VE London 2026

Following the progress made at ICE and iGB Affiliate Barcelona, World Gaming plans to continue expanding its sustainability strategy at iGB L!VE, which will take place in London on 1–2 July 2026.

Registration for the event is now open through the official iGB L!VE website.
