José Aníbal Aguirre Unveils Strategic Pivot for GAT Expo CDMX 2026
⏱ 3 min read
(Mexico City, SoloAzar Exclusive).- The CEO of GAT Events explains why the new edition of the event leaves behind the conceptual approach to prioritize the activation of operations, strategic networking and the generation of concrete opportunities in the gaming industry in Mexico.
What motivated the decision to adopt a strictly commercial model for this edition of GAT Expo CDMX?
"We are responding to a very specific moment in the Mexican industry. Today the sector is less focused on conceptual discussion and much more on implementation: how to optimize operations, how to integrate technology and, above all, how to generate measurable results. GAT Expo CDMX evolves in this direction, becoming a platform where supply and demand meet directly, with a focus on real business, activation of operations and solutions applicable in both land-based and online environments."
How is this format different from previous editions of the event?
"The main difference is the approach. In previous editions there was a more marked component of the academic agenda and sectoral discussion; In 2026 the event takes a step towards practicality. We know that the regulatory transformation is in process, however, the gambling industry in Mexico does not stop. The activities of the program are aligned with the central axis of GAT CDMX 2026, which is commercial exhibition, strategic networking and the generation of tangible opportunities. We have created training spaces in response to suggestions from SINTOLED, in partnership with ALEA, which will certify the two days on May 13 and 14. This year we have a more compact, more direct format in line with the immediate needs of the market and the moment of maximum activity that the FIFA World Cup demands with Mexico as the host country."
What kind of audience do you hope to attract under this more commercial model?
"We are convening decision-makers: permit holders, operators, C-level executives, those responsible for technology, marketing and operations, including mid-level officials who will be trained in the ALEA's seminar. Suppliers ready to close deals will also attend, offering their latest portfolios. It is a space focused on those who need solutions today, not in the long term, and on those who are actively looking for alliances, products and tools to optimize their operation. Hence also the relevance of the networking scheduled at the Big Bola Casino in Santa Fe and the Ronqueo Gathering at the Central Central restaurant in the same district, very Mexican-style, an event that leaders interested in strengthening their corporate relationship will be able to access."
What trends in the sector will be most present in this edition?
"There are major trends that run through the entire agenda. The first is the omnichannel model, where integration between the land-based and online segments is no longer optional. The second is the growth of affiliate marketing and user acquisition strategies, which are redefining the reach of platforms. The third is the inclusion of new payment methods with Fintech solutions and cash management. Another imperative need is the professionalization of operations, training human talent to offer a better experience to the player. We will undoubtedly see a strong role of artificial intelligence applied to gaming, data analytics for decision-making, sports betting platforms and online casinos."
Finally, would you like to add anything?
“I thank SoloAzar for this opportunity to express that we continue with the irrevocable decision to serve the Mexican market as this great nation deserves. To the entire gaming industry with a bet my thanks for their important support in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 versions.”
