(Las Vegas).- Caesars Palace, the longstanding casino that gained new relevance with millennials from its 2009 inclusion in the movie The Hangover, will soon begin a multimillion-dollar makeover of its main entrance and porte-cochère, while also overhauling the lobby bar and table games casino floor.
Initial paperwork was filed for the huge project in May, with the PENTA Building Group — a contractor/construction group with offices in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Phoenix — overseeing construction changes that will last until New Year’s Eve. New pedestrian tunnels are already in the works to bring visitors safely into the resort.
A 15-foot tall effigy of Augustus Caesar will replace the existing statue of three goddesses standing in the Caesars Palace Lobby and remove the water feature. Two state-of-the-art gaming pits are planned, and the circular table games section will be renovated.
The current lobby bar, situated a few steps from the check-in desk, was last upgraded in 2014, replacing the 24-hour Galleria Bar. Back then, a floor-to-ceiling wall sign reading “every great hotel deserves an exceptional lobby bar” seemed to reinforce that the Caesars’ lobby bar is a hallmark feature of its main entrance. Further details of the new lounge have not been revealed.
During these changes, rideshare pick-up and drop-off will be relocated to the exit doors next to the Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, giving the already successful hot spot a boost.
