(Colombia).- Currently there are 16 operators authorized by Coljuegos, until August 2022, there was a report of 7,004,174 user accounts. In a recent statement dated December 2022, the report increased to 8,059,313 active accounts, taking into account that a player can register for one or more accounts on different platforms.
In figures from Coljuegos, games operated over the Internet have had positive growth in recent years.
In fact, in the year 2020 they closed with bets close to 8 trillion pesos and for the year 2021 at 16 trillion pesos; in 2022 bets for 26 billion pesos are reported, with a growth of 67%. "Games operated by the Internet have generated resources for exploitation rights of more than 255,376 million pesos in the last year, money whose main purpose is to finance the health of Colombians," explained Coljuegos.
The games operated by Internet reached a collection of usd 56,39Million, reporting bets for usd 5,974M, with a growth of 67% percent, being the World Cup in Qatar the one that marked the rise of this type of betting.
For its part, Raspa&Listo surprises with its tremendous reception among Colombians with usd 9,7 Million in sales and which far exceeds sales growth projections by 150%. Baloto Revancha achieved usd 11,91M ; SUPER astro, and promotional games reached more tha usd 1Million. El Chance contributed and the lotteries usd 2,000million.
According to a Coljuegos report, of the total transfers to the health of Colombians by the Games of Luck and Chance sector in 2022 of 737,872 million pesos (usd175Millions) localized games (casinos and bingos) were the ones with the greatest contribution in collections reaching 319,710 million pesos (usd 72 Millions), with a growth of 33% more than the previous year, thanks to the increase in electronic slot machines (METs) which reached a total of 101,202, which represents a growth of 9%, in 3,428 commercial establishments, which represents a 14% growth compared to 2021.
The localized games registered bets for 40,283 billion pesos (usd 90 millions) at the end of 2022, which represented a growth of 11% compared to the same period last year and Internet games reported bets for 26,883 billion pesos (usd 38million) , with a growth of 67 % percent.
On the other hand, it is estimated that around 50,000 units operate illegally under the protection of fraudulent licenses or agreements with the same control entities that allow it in full view.
Coljuegos has developed the parameters with which the bingos located in Colombia must be connected in the same way as it happens with the casino machines. Localized bingos are understood to be those whose activity is open to the public in a certain place and as a condition the bettor must go there to place his bet.
Coljuegos in its draft resolution supports the project on the basis:
“The objective of awarding prizes only in money is to strengthen monitoring, control and inspection for greater accuracy in the settlement base, this allows reducing information asymmetries between the operator and regulator due to the difficulty of a precise assessment. The reporting and control system is designed to access reliable and specific data in terms of information contained in this document, as a minimum it must extract sample data from the system in order to perform audits on the data sent and registered”
For this, the Technical System of the Game must guarantee the integrity and reliability of the information stored in the different components of the same, (databases and information systems), and ensure compliance with controls that guarantee the traceability of data changes. generated in time.
You must guarantee all the operations and traceability of the transactions carried out, including, among others and without limitation:
- Registration of boards, letters, cards or similar.
- Control of the game, figures, shapes, draws or variations of the game.
- Registration and documentation of the control of ballots and ballots
- Any other information considered relevant.
- Visualization of the development of the game
With this, Coljuegos seeks to put an end to an activity that has not been concerned with growing and contributing technologically to the Games of Luck and Chance industry in Colombia.
The gradualness for the start-up of the online connection of the located Bingos will be 6 months according to what is read in the project.
This is how it was proposed in the resolution project that the entity published and which seems to be one of the last actions of the outgoing President of Coljuegos Cesar Valencia.
While the position is being created, the President of the Company (Coljuegos) can assign such activities to an official worker at the management level or hire a highly qualified natural or legal person for these purposes, the aforementioned document reads.
According to the project, it is intended to: "Designate the functions of Compliance Officer to the public servant whose position is legally created in the personnel plant, who will assume with absolute independence to manage the activities that allow the company to timely comply with the guidelines issued by the competent authorities against the systems, policies and procedures regarding the prevention of Money Laundering (ML), Financing of Terrorism (FT) and the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction (FPADM) - LA/FT/FPADM) "
