(Brazil).- Brazilian media revealed that the preliminary report of Law Project No. 2648, of 2019, not yet presented in the Regional Development and Tourism Commission - CDR, drafted by Senator Angelo Coronel (PSD) is in favor of the legalization of gambling in Brazil, which the parliamentarian calls 'games of fortune'.

The senator is the rapporteur for the bill that provides for the legalization of casinos in integrated tourist complexes, presented last year by Senator Roberto Rocha (PSDB-MA). Last month, another similar proposal was presented by Senator Irajá (PSD-TO), with the approval of the federal government. Rocha submitted a request requesting the joint processing of the two proposals.

In his opinion, Coronel maintains that the legalization of games "is presented as a solution to the economic consequences" of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is a mistake to turn a blind eye to reality and not recognize that bingo halls and even animal games are part of the daily life of Brazilians. Shyness, fear or, I would dare to say, the false morality that rejects the legalization of games, makes the country lose a considerable amount of taxes per year that could be used for the benefit of the Brazilian citizen ", defends the Colonel in the interview of the antagonist.
