Economy Commission approved to modify the exploitation of casinos and slots

(Peru).- The Congress Economics Commission approved the bill that modifies the exploitation of casino and slot machine games, to focus the revenues collected by these activities on the execution of investments and development projects.
Currently, Law 27153 establishes that the distribution of income generated by the tax on casino games and slots to district and provincial municipalities for public infrastructure investment.
The bill presented by the Municipality of Lima aims to modify the use of these resources so that they are not only used for "infrastructure works", but also to finance public investments formulated under the regulations of Invierte.pe. With this, adds the document, it would guarantee "the formation of other types of capital necessary for the development of the country, as well as streamline the execution of investments that qualify as non-PIP".
