  • The Brazilian Ministry of Finance’s Prizes and Betting Secretariat has issued Ordinance 1,857, establishing procedures for the transfer of bettor data and resources within companies of the same group. Companies must submit requests by December 13, 2024, with approvals processed within 15 to 30 days.

  • A new agreement between Brazil’s SPA and Anatel aims to expedite the blocking of unlicensed gambling sites, with over 5,200 platforms already taken offline. This collaboration enhances oversight and operational efficiency, just weeks before the regulated betting market launches on January 1.

  • Brazil has introduced new ad restrictions under Normative Ordinance 1,902, prohibiting gambling ads targeting minors and mandating “18+” age warnings. These measures take immediate effect, with broader restrictions enforceable from January 1, 2025, alongside the launch of the regulated betting market.
