´Online gaming is a reality worldwide´- Mariano Molina
⏱ 2 min read
(Buenos Aires, SoloAzar Exclusive).- Given the recent sanction of the online gambling law in the City of Buenos Aires, from SoloAzar we consulted Mariano Molina Zavalia, One Way Consulting Consultant specialized in Marketing and Operations ONE WAY Consulting Argentina, about the characteristics of online gambling and its differences with the traditional game, and his opinion about the legislative debate in Argentina.
Do you consider that online and traditional gaming are complement or competence?
From my point of view, online and traditional gambling are not competition, but are complementary. I believe that a good strategy of a traditional casino can be translated into online gambling, I believe that those who have casinos can take advantage and cross-play between their base games and their land games with online gambling.
I think online gambling essentially meets some needs of those people who are far away. At some point and a few years ago, Williams introduced some online gaming platforms that could be credited with credits in physical play or traditional casinos, and I don't know if it had much success because perhaps it was way ahead of its time. I think that as the years go by, there will be more and more interaction between physical gambling and online gambling, because each one has its peculiarities. One has the comfort of being at home and playing, but also physical play is a program, entertainment, an outing, it is a complement. It is going to eat, it is seeing a show, it is going out, it is entertaining and in some cases it is a social need to meet, especially for those who are older.
In your view, Is it positive that the online gaming issue is being debated at a legislative level?
Yes, of course, I think it is very positive. I believe that in the law that is being discussed there are several aspects that have to do with responsible gambling, with work on gambling. At the same time, it has to do with giving the possibility to those companies that have a base game, landbased casino, to participate in the tender. With this new law of the City of Buenos Aires they are given a license.
I think it is very positive that it is discussed, because clearly it is preferable to have it regulated within each jurisdiction, and not that it be played without providing any type of tax or benefit for the city in this case, or for the country, playing on foreign platforms. I think it is a combination, but we must give the debate, because the debate is healthy. Online gambling is a reality in the world, not only in poker platforms or card games, but also in slot machines, or electronic roulette, and other types of games that are a reality, which are increasingly present, taking into account count the age of the players. As gamers who grew up in the digital world grow, they enter the online world and want to satisfy their needs.
