The bill 448/24 is currently being analysed by the Chamber of Deputies.

"By allocating funds to the CBDS, we are ensuring that deaf people have access to sports programmes and initiatives that are suited to their needs," said deputy Julio Cesar Ribeiro (Republicans-DF), author of the bill.

Reduction

Currently, the law that regulates the betting market(Law 14.790/23) allocates 88% of revenues from the commercialisation of online betting to companies. The remaining 12 per cent is divided between various areas, with the Ministry of Sport receiving 22.2 per cent.

Bill 448/24 reduces this percentage to 22.1 per cent and allocates the difference (0.1 per cent) to the CBDS.

Next steps

The bill will be analysed conclusively by the committees for the Defence of the Rights of People with Disabilities; Sports; Finance and Taxation; and Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
