Sports Wagering and iGaming: PA Gaming Control Board Reports Record Monthly Revenue in November

(Harrisburg).-The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) reported today that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming, along with fantasy contests, during November 2024 was a record $562,368,782.
The November total also was a significant increase of more than 26% compared to revenue generated in November 2023.Sources of gaming revenue regulated by the PGCB include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals (VGTs). The PGCB has posted separate reports for these types of gaming on its website, https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/.
Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $232,800,147* during November 2024.
The following chart compiles all revenue generated in November 2024 by casinos, along with fantasy contests and VGTs operated by other vendors and includes a comparison to total revenue generated in November 2023.

November’s revenue from the play of retail slot machines was $201,507,225, a 6.21% increase in revenue when compared to the $189,728,426 generated in November 2023.
The number of slot machines in operation in November 2024 was 24,474 compared to 25,035 at the casinos in November 2023.

November 2024 total sports wagering handle was a record monthly high of $935,530,170, 0.15% above the November 2023 total of $934,130,152.
The taxable revenue figure for November 2024 was also a record monthly amount at $77,097,494, or 498% higher when compared to November 2023, when taxable revenue was $12,884,034.

Video Gaming Terminals
Total adjusted revenue for November 2024 for video gaming terminals (VGTs) was $3,241,393, 4.39% lower than November 2023 when revenue was $3,390,189. By the end of November 2024, all VGT Operators offered the maximum permitted five machines at each of the 74 qualified truck stop establishments, compared to five machines at each of the 71 establishments at this time last year.
