(Brasilia).- Bill No. 143/2024, which amends the lottery law to authorize the executive branch to offer lottery services in Sergipe, was approved by the committees and plenary session of the Sergipe State Legislative Assembly (Alese).
The text amends the heading of article 1 and the text of the eighth item of paragraph 2, adding sport to the list of public policy modalities benefiting from the initiative, which was not the case initially.
The state government's initiative seeks ways to expand the types of resources earmarked for incentivising sport, given the need to increase investment in the sector.
"The state lottery will make it possible to increase investment in sports infrastructure, support for training programmes and competitions, benefiting athletes of all disciplines and levels. Such investment not only fosters sporting performance, but also contributes to social inclusion, offering opportunities to various segments of society and promoting the integration of vulnerable groups," explains the text of the bill.
