In Brasilia, an AIGAMING delegation promotes new debates in favour of regulating the lottery

On Wednesday 10 March, a delegation of representatives from the lottery intermediation market met in Brasilia to hold another round of debates on market regulations.

The reason was the publication on Monday of a new Federal Government Ordinance establishing the Regulatory Policy of the Ministry of Finance's Secretariat for Prizes and Betting, aimed at structuring the regulation of fixed odds betting, and setting out a timetable of actions in favour of this regulation.

In April, for example, general rules for payment transactions and the definition of technical and security requirements for the betting systems used by operating agents should be established.

Other provisions, organised into four phases, from now until June, also deal with Policy, procedures and controls aimed at preventing and combating Money Laundering; compliance with legal provisions and guaranteeing the rights of gamblers; guidelines and practices to be adopted to prevent pathological gambling disorder and responsible advertising, among others.

The group's main spokespeople are the president of AIGAMING (formerly AIDIGLOT), Waldir Junior, and the CEO of Sorte Online, Márcio Malta, representing the member companies.

And among the main agendas are meetings with Senator Angelo Coronel, Congressman Paulo Guedes, Congressman Bacelar, Simone Vicentini (Secretary of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance) and Gustavo Guimarães (Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Planning).

"This action is part of the constant flow of work that we have developed with the organisation, defending the interests of the sector, with the aim of reinforcing the search for a regulated, strong and safe market for all," says Malta.
