(Argentina).- Betsson Group and Casino de Victoria jointly announce that they have been granted a license for the development of online gambling activity in the Province of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
This latest development continues Betsson Group’s string of expansion where in the past few months saw the online gaming operator enter Kenya, Brazil, Croatia, and Colombia. Betsson Group joined forces with Casino de Victoria for the application some 18 months ago.
Online gambling is still relatively new for Argentina, but its land-based counterpart is a very mature market. Founded in 2005 and part of Grupo Mautone, Casino de Victoria is one of the leading land-based operators in Argentina. It differentiates itself through the high quality and personalised services it offers to its customers. The Group has several sites around Argentina, including Casino Arena Maipu, Casino Valle de Uco, Bingo Victoria, Hotel Termas Victoria, Casino Central of Mar del Plata, and Monte Hermoso Casino. Casino Victoria is unique in the quality of service it provides to its customers
Speaking about this latest expansion, Betsson Group’s CEO, Jesper Svensson, said “Our strategy for Latam is to find local partners who are able to bring the necessary expertise and have solid industry experience and we are extremely excited to have Casino de Victoria as our partners in Argentina for this joint venture.”
Betsson Group will be providing the technology, operational, and marketing support and its know-how on online gaming. “We will start working on the technical implementations that are required for the market so that operations will be able to commence soon afterward. We will launch under our flagship brand, Betsson, and our goal is to start with our proprietary sportsbook, casino, and live casino offerings,” added Jesper Svensson.
As a socially responsible operator, Betsson Group is glad to note the strong focus on responsible gambling in the regulation by the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos (IPLyC) and confirms that it will adhere to and fully support these standards.
Both Betsson Group and Casino de Victoria are committed to the communities they operate in. “One Betsson” is Betsson’s vehicle for local community engagements which over the past months have strongly focused on providing support to multiple COVID-19 related initiatives in Malta, Sweden, Estonia, Georgia, and Hungary. “Sembrando Victorias” (Sewing Victories) was born from an initiative by Casino de Victoria and is the first foundation linked to the gaming industry in Argentina. Since 2016, it has been supporting employability and social inclusion initiatives to improve the standard of living and quality of life of hundreds of people every year. It offers multiple training programs such as masonry, baking, sewing, computer repair, tourism and hospitality, sales and customer service, how to build a CV, and much more.
