GR8_TECH’s Platform Sets a New Benchmark for Speed in iGaming

A Faster Platform for a Smoother Player Experience

GR8_TECH has rebuilt its platform’s frontend architecture, achieving an average Lighthouse score of 90–95 points. According to the company, this makes Platform for Champions effectively the fastest platform in the iGaming industry, with the top outliers among benchmarked competitors not exceeding 75 points.

“Essentially, this means GR8_TECH’s platform loads faster than competitors’, giving end users a smoother experience they legitimately want to return to. For operators, this means higher player loyalty, time spent in sessions, retention rate, and, ultimately, higher revenue. Simply because of better tech,” commented Edward Smyshliayev, GR8_TECH CTO.

The Technology Behind the Update

GR8_TECH rebuilt its frontend architecture through two key changes.

First, the company shifted from a pure client-side rendering (CSR) approach based on the React framework to a server-side rendering (SSR) architecture built on Qwik, moving much of the processing away from the end user’s device.

Second, it adopted edgecloud technology, allowing rendering to take place closer to the player. According to GR8_TECH, this can make a meaningful difference in regions located farther from centralized infrastructure.

Full customization has been preserved across every core surface, from the GREAT_SPORTSBOOK betting interface to the casino lobby, cashier, registration and promotional pages.

Benchmarking Performance Across the iGaming Industry

To test the effectiveness of the update, GR8_TECH benchmarked more than 15 leading iGaming B2C websites, covering traditional sportsbooks and casinos, modern crypto-native casinos and online prediction markets. The performance testing focused on mobile, which accounts for the overwhelming majority of iGaming traffic.

Only a third of the sites demonstrated sufficiently strong frontend load times, with their Speed Index in the green zone below 3.4 seconds. At the same time, more than 40% fell into the red zone, with load times exceeding 5.8 seconds.

Following the updates, GR8_TECH’s platform consistently loads in just 1.72 seconds.

Lighthouse Scores Highlight the Performance Gap

Speed Index represents only part of the overall performance assessment. The full Lighthouse Index evaluates five different metrics.

Among the benchmarked brands, only a handful achieved scores in the 70–80 range, placing them at the upper end of the “Needs Improvement” category. The majority recorded scores in the 50s.

GR8_TECH’s platform now achieves an average Lighthouse score of 90–95 points, according to the company.

“Speed and flexibility have historically been a trade-off,” adds the CTO. “Our updates remove the inevitability of having to choose. Operators continue using our CMS-driven, widget-based interface to customize layouts, promotions, and content without engineering involvement, while users enjoy a fast, uninterrupted experience. It's a win-win for them and, in my opinion, the technological future for all iGaming platforms—one we're essentially building today.”

Platform for Champions to Be Rolled Out to Live Brands

GR8_TECH’s updated Platform for Champions will be rolled out for live brands following its first demo showcase at SBC Summit 2026, at booth C416.
